Tobias Engelsing

Tobias Engelsing (* 1960 in Konstanz ) is director of the four municipal museums in Konstanz ( Rosgarten Museum , Hus Museum Konstanz , Städtische Wessenberg-Galerie , Bodensee-Naturmuseum ), author and journalist.

Tobias Engelsing studied history, law and political science at the University of Konstanz and received his doctorate there in 1990. phil. with the dissertation: The social history of the volunteer fire brigade in the 19th and 20th centuries. From 1992–2006 he was editor-in-chief at Südkurier . Since 2006 he has been director of the Constance City Museum. He is a lecturer at the University of Konstanz in the history department. Since 1982 he has published books on the regional history of Constance and the surrounding area. As a journalist he works for German and Swiss daily newspapers, for Die Zeit and for television channels.

He was shaped by Europe and campaigns for the preservation of parliamentary democracy, individual rights of freedom and legal security.
