Tobias Gerald Albert Lieven Flood (born August 8, 1985 in Frimley , Surrey ) is an English rugby union player who has been used in the position of the liaison half since his youth . He is active for the English national rugby union team , where he usually plays on the position of the inner three quarters , as Jonny Wilkinson claims the connector position for himself.

Career

He grew up in Morpeth , in the north east of England . While he was still at school, he was accepted into the Falcons Academy and gained experience at the highest level early on. He finished his studies at Northumbria University, where he was rarely able to actively study in his last year, as he had made the international breakthrough in the club and also in the national team.

In 2006 he was first used for England when his team lost to Argentina . Coach Brian Ashton then nominated him for the Six Nations 2007 . In this tournament he showed some good performances and became a regular player. At the 2007 World Cup he made it to the final with the English team. There you only had to admit defeat to the South Africans . For the Six Nations 2008 he was nominated again and scored in the first two games against Wales and in Italy one try .

At the end of the 2007/08 season of the Guinness Premiership , he left the Falcons and moved to the Leicester Tigers . He injured himself in the semi-finals of the Heineken Cup and is out for six months.

His grandfather was the German actor Albert Lieven .
