Together to the Stars is a Swedish post-black metal band from Stockholm that was founded in 2015 .
history
Together to the Stars was founded in 2015 by the Swedish multi-instrumentalist David Steinmarck in Sweden's capital Stockholm and is supported as a singer by Franco Fuentes . On January 25, 2019, An Oblivion Above, the debut album with five titles, was released on the German independent label Northern Silence Productions . A collector's edition of the album is limited to 500 units.
On March 16, 2020, the group announced their second album As We Wither , which will be released on April 24 of the same year by Northern Silence Productions. In addition, the first track from the album, Reprise , was released.
style
The music of Together to the Stars is described as modern Depressive Black Metal with partly catchy guitar riffings and a dense mood, whereby individual melodies are described as "ironically sounding euphoric at first". According to Wolfsbrunn from Metal.de, there are hardly any musical influences from post-metal . In the riffings, the musicians use the shoegaze moments of the French school, which are almost inevitable for the genre . Wolfsbrunn describes the music at the typical level of one-man projects , not least because of the clinically effective drum sounds.
Stephan Rajchl According to the toxic changes screaming vocals in a coherent way with the sound of tunes between melancholy and euphoria change and dreamy now and then to clear vocals passages meet. The tracks on the debut album An Oblivion Above are arranged extravagantly and exude a mixture of feelings of despair and hope , whereby the two musicians manage to hide an almost optimistic undertone in their guitar melodies without reducing the prevailing dejection to absurdity . The music is ascribed a genuine emotionality , which groups like Harakiri for the Sky and Deafheaven bring across.
According to Vampster's Arlette Huguenin Dumittan, Together to the Stars create "wonderfully melancholy post-black metal soundscapes that motivate you to go out into the cold night and look at the starry sky." like Alcest , Svavelvinter , Seas of Years or Amesoeurs . In an interview with Vampster, singer Daniel Fuentes revealed that groups like Deafheaven , Saor , Elderwind , Explosions in the Sky , Alcest and Burzum have influenced him musically.
