Outhouse on Eisenlohrstrasse
The toilets Eisenlohr road is a public urinal in the Eisenlohr street in Wuppertal district Barmen , Quartier lit court . It was built between 1910 and 1913 in half-timbered construction with a half- hipped roof and still serves the sanitary needs of visitors to the park today.
The building was renovated in 1980 and on February 24, 1997, the city of Wuppertal placed it under monument protection as a cultural monument .
In 2012, the building was threatened with demolition due to its dilapidation and lack of funds for renovation. In 2013, the Jackstädt Foundation donated a total of 270,000 euros for the renovation of the toilet block with the installation of a handicapped-accessible toilet, for the installation of a kiosk in the building and the creation of a forest playground on the site. The construction work began at the beginning of 2014, the site was cleared at the end of 2013. The kiosk was opened in April 2017.
