The Tokositna River is a 55 km long right tributary of the Chulitna River in southern Alaska .

The Tokositna River has its origin on the glacier tongue of the Kanikula Glacier at an altitude of about 350  m on the southeast flank of the Alaska range . The river initially flows in a south-easterly direction. After almost 10 km the river passes the lower end of the Tokositna Glacier . The Tokosha Mountains , a low ridge, flank the left bank of the river. After a total of 35 km the river turns to the northeast. The Ruth River , which represents the outflow of the Ruth Glacier , flows into the Tokositna River on the left. This turns east on its last kilometers and finally flows into the Chulitna River, which flows south.

The course of the river is almost entirely within Denali State Park . At the southernmost point of the river is the Tokositna River State Recreation Area . There is an opportunity to go on a day-long canoe trip on the river.
