Tollbach is a district of the Siegenburg market in the Lower Bavarian district of Kelheim . It formed an independent municipality until 1946.

location

Tollbach is located in the Hallertau about two kilometers southeast of Siegenburg and about one kilometer northwest of Wildenberg .

history

Tollbach owes its name to the brook that meanders through the valley surrounded by gentle heights. The place first appears in documents around the year 1100, when a "Gompoldus de tolbach" attested to an exchange of goods.

The Thirty Years' War did not pass Tollbach by either. In 1661 the church altar was not repaired from the damage. The French wars around 1800 also brought hardship and fears to the area. The Pürkwangers sought help from the Blessed Mother and vowed an eternal cloister to Tollbach. The votive picture from 1801 is a reminder of this promise.

The municipality of Tollbach was incorporated into Siegenburg in 1946 with the districts of Tollbach, Aicha, Langhaid, Kipfelsberg and Morgenroth. Ecclesiastically Tollbach belongs to the parish of Pürkwang . In 1987 Tollbach had 78 inhabitants.
