Tomás Regueiro Pagola (* in Irún ; † in August 1991 ) was a Spanish football player of Basque origin on the position of the striker .

biography

Tomás Regueiro began his football career with his hometown club Real Unión Irún and played briefly for Real Madrid in 1936 , until the Spanish league was stuck for three years due to the Spanish Civil War . In 1940 he followed his older brothers Luis and Pedro Regueiro to Mexico , where he also played for the Asturias football club founded by Spanish immigrants . He stayed with this club, with which he was the first champion of the Mexican professional league in 1943/44 (together with his brother Pedro) , until its retirement from professional football at the end of the 1949/50 season.
