Pedro Regueiro Pagola (born October 10, 1906 in Irún ; † December 6, 1995 ) was a Spanish football player of Basque origin, who mostly played in midfield . He is the older brother of soccer players Luis and Tomás Regueiro .
biography
Pedro Regueiro began his football career in the service of his home club Real Unión Irún and later moved to Real Madrid via Betis Sevilla .
Due to the Spanish Civil War that broke out in 1936, the Spanish league was interrupted for three years and therefore the native Basque and five-time Spanish national player joined the Basque football team , which went on a world tour for two years between 1937 and 1939. In the 1938/39 season, this team played under the name Euzkadi in the Mexican League , where they were runner-up behind CF Asturias . At the beginning of the 1939/40 season, Pedro Regueiro played with his brother Luis for the Asturianos , but initially achieved far less positive results and joined the UD Moctezuma in the 1941/42 season . But in the 1943/44 season he was with Asturias, and together with his other brother Tomás, first champion of the newly introduced Mexican professional league . Immediately after this triumph, Pedro Regueiro ended his active career.
