Antonio Nuzzi

Antonio Nuzzi (born August 3, 1926 in Boiano ; † September 9, 2016 ) was an Italian clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Teramo-Atri .

Life

Antonio Nuzzi was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Conza-Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi-Bisaccia on April 2, 1949 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Archbishop of Conza-Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi-Bisaccia and Bishop of Nusco on February 21, 1981 . The Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops , Sebastiano Baggio , ordained him episcopal on March 15 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Pietro Santoro , Archbishop of Boiano-Campobasso , and Angelo Criscito , Bishop of San Severo and Lucera .

After the union of the diocese of Nusco with the archbishopric of Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi-Conza-Bisaccia, he was appointed archbishop of this new archbishopric on September 30, 1986. On December 31, 1988 he was appointed as Archbishop ad personam to Bishop of Teramo-Atri .

On August 24, 2002, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
