Tom Kalin (* 1962 in Chicago ) is an American screenwriter, film director and film producer .

Life

Kalin was born in 1962. After finishing school, he worked in the film industry. As a screenwriter, he wrote several film scripts in the 1990s and 2000s. He also works as a film director and has made films such as Wilde Innschuld , Swoon and The Robots of Sodom . As a film producer, he worked on films such as I Shot Andy Warhol and Go Fish . In addition to his films, Kalin made a number of short films. Many of his films deal with LGBT and AIDS and he is considered an important pioneer of New Queer Cinema . Kalin's works have been nominated several times at various film festivals. Kalin temporarily taught film study groups at Columbia University School of Arts .
