Office Killer is an American horror comedy by Cindy Sherman from the year 1997 .

action

Dorine Douglas works long after work when her computer crashes. She asks her colleague Gary Michaels for help. Michaels is electrocuted while attempting to repair and dies. Douglas drives his body in the trunk of her car to her house, where she takes it to the basement.

Douglas later poisons her colleague Virginia Wingate, whose body is being kept next to Michaels. Two Girl Scouts visit Douglas' home to sell pastries. The girls are killed and their corpses taken to the cellar.

Douglas sends messages to her office colleagues on Michaels' behalf that simulate the man is still alive. She kills three more people. After her mother dies, she sets her house on fire, moves and looks for a new office job.

Reviews

Edward Guthmann compared the film in the San Francisco Chronicle of December 12, 1997 with a " goulash ". The film cannot decide whether it wants to be a “ blood bath orgy ” (“ slasher fest ”), a “ social satire ” or a “ comedy of revenge ”. Barbara Sukowa plays theatrical; Molly Ringwald looks like she is starring in a teen comedy; Jeanne Tripplehorn plays as if no one had told her that the film was a comedy.

Cindy Sherman was nominated for the Golden Leopard at the Locarno International Film Festival in 1997.
