Tom Pevsner

Thomas "Tom" Pevsner (born October 2, 1926 in Dresden ; † August 18, 2014 in London ) was a British film producer of German origin.

Life

Thomas Pevsner was the second of three children of the art historian Nikolaus Pevsner . He began working in the film business as an assistant director in the early 1950s. He worked as such until 1970. In 1962 he gave the German comedy film Do you find that Constanze is behaving correctly? his directorial debut. Lilli Palmer and Peter van Eyck played key roles in this production .

From the mid-1960s on, Pevsner also worked as a producer, almost without exception appearing as an associate producer. An example of this is the literary film adaptation Dracula from 1979. From 1981 he was involved in several James Bond films in this capacity, his first film was James Bond 007 - In a deadly mission . This was followed by James Bond 007 - Octopussy (1983), James Bond 007 - In the Face of Death (1985) as well as the two films with Timothy Dalton in the leading role: James Bond 007 - The Living Daylights (1987) and James Bond 007 - License to kill (1989). For the 1995 directed James Bond 007 - Goldeneye , Pevsner worked as executive producer. He then withdrew from the film business and only appeared in documentaries about James Bond and the films.

Pevsner died in 2014 at the age of 87. In the following film in the James Bond series, Specter (2015), the hotel that Q used during his stay in the Alps was named in memory of his Pevsner .
