Tomaz Kim
Tomaz Kim , actually Joaquim Fernandes Tomaz Ribeiro-Grillo , (born February 2, 1915 in Lobito , Portuguese West Africa , † January 24, 1967 in Lisbon , Portugal ) was a Portuguese poet and translator.
Live and act
Tomasz Kim first spent his school days in Cape Town and then in Lisbon. He began studying engineering in London , which he broke off prematurely to study German at the Faculdade de Letras in Lisbon . He later worked as a lecturer in English-language literature and as a professor of English literature at the Lisbon Faculty of Philology. Guest professorships let him teach in Oxford , Heidelberg , Bonn and Göttingen .
He lived in London for many years. He was also co-editor of the magazine Cadernos de Poesia, which appeared in 1940 . The author has worked in publications in the following magazines: Atlântico , Aventura , Presença , Graal . He translated TS Eliot into Portuguese.
The main themes of his poetry were existential and metaphysical, social and political questions.
