Tomoki Iwata ( Japanese 岩 田智輝 , Iwata Tomoki ; born April 7, 1997 in Usa , Ōita Prefecture ) is a Japanese football player .

Career

society

Tomoki Iwata learned to play football in the youth team of Ōita Trinita . The club from Ōita , a port city in Präita prefecture , played in the second highest league in the country, the J2 League . At the end of 2015, he had to start his way into the third division with the club. In 2016 he became champion of the J3 League with Ōita and rose straight back to the second division. The club finished the 2018 season as runner-up and was promoted to the first division .

National team

Tomoki Iwata played five times in the U18 and seven times in the U19 national team . He has been playing for the Japanese national soccer team since 2019 . He made his international debut on June 21, 2019 in a Copa América match against Uruguay at the Arena do Grêmio in Porto Alegre .
