Tonel (unit)
The tonel , also Tonnel or Tonell and Tonelada / Tonnelada (portug.), Was the Brazilian wine barrel and a measure of volume for liquids, especially for wine , vinegar and brandy . The measure was a so-called wholesale measure .
- Valencia : 1 tonel = 100 cantaros = 139.449 liters
- Empire Brazil ( Rio de Janeiro ): 1 tonel = 624 Canados = 870 liters (according to the value is 870.412 liters)
