Toni Hofer

Toni Hofer (born May 24, 1903 in Linz ; † September 27, 1979 there ) was an Austrian graphic artist , bookplate artist and art collector.

Toni Hofer completed an apprenticeship as a printer and typesetter. He attended courses with Paul Ikrath and Franz Lehrer and worked at the Wimmer book printing company in Linz. In addition, Hofer began collecting small graphics and bookplates.

For a time he was the chairman of the technical book printing staff in Upper Austria and a lecturer on bookplate art and commercial graphics at home and abroad.

His works mainly include graphics, woodcuts and drawings of coats of arms. His estate is in the graphic collection of the Upper Austrian State Museum in Linz.
