The European Darts Championship 2017 is a major tournament in darts and was hosted for the tenth time by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) from October 26th to 29th . The venue for the third time was the Ethias Arena in Hasselt .

The title was secured by Michael van Gerwen from the Netherlands , who prevailed in the final with 11: 7 legs against the Englishman Rob Cross .

format

The tournament was played in legs using the knockout system . The number of legs to be won per round increased. Game mode in the 1st round was a best of 11 legs . By the finale, the mode rose to best of 21 legs . Each leg was played in 501 double-out mode.

Prize money

The tournament totaled £ 400,000. The prize money was distributed among the participants as follows:
