Nathan Aspinall (born July 15, 1991 in Stockport ) is an English darts player of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC).

Career

Aspinall tried from 2012 to qualify for the PDC Pro Tour via the Development Tour and the Q-School , which he succeeded in 2015 for the first time, which qualified him for 2016 and 2017. At the PDC World Youth Championship 2015 he was defeated by Max Hopp 5: 6 in the final after he had awarded a match dart.

On September 5, 2018, Aspinall won a tournament on the PDC Pro Tour for the first time with the 18th tournament of the Players Championships in Barnsley . In the same year, Aspinall qualified for a world championship for the first time via the PDC Pro Tour Order of Merit . There he defeated the sixth in the world rankings, Gerwyn Price, in the second round . After further victories over Kyle Anderson , Devon Petersen and Brendan Dolan , Aspinall was in the semi-finals, where he was defeated by Michael Smith despite an average of over 100 points per shot .

At the UK Open 2019 he defeated Gerwyn Price and moved into his first major final, where he surprisingly prevailed 11: 5 against world number two Rob Cross .

At the PDC World Darts Championship 2020 , after victories over Danny Baggish , Krzysztof Ratajski , the two-time world champion Gary Anderson and Dimitri Van den Bergh, he reached the semifinals, in which he was eliminated against world number one Michael van Gerwen .

After the World Cup, Aspinall was nominated for the Premier League Darts 2020 .
