The European Darts Championship 2014 was the seventh edition of the European Darts Championship . Launched by the PDC organized Dart Tournament took place from 24 to 26 October 2014 for the third and last time in Mülheim an der Ruhr place. From 2015 the event will be held in Hasselt . The tournament is taken into account when calculating the PDC Order of Merit .
In the final, Michael van Gerwen from the Netherlands was able to prevail for the first time .
qualification
The top 16 of the Order of Merit (world rankings) were automatically qualified for the event. In addition there were the top 8 of the Pro Tour Order of Merit who are not already qualified by the PDC Order of Merit . In addition, the 7 top players of the PDC Pro Tour Order of Merit , who are not from Great Britain and are not already qualified, will compete. There was also a Scandinavian qualifying tournament, the winner of which was also allowed to start. This resulted in a field of 32 participants.
