Toniataba (spelling variant: Tonia Taba ) is a town in the West African state of Gambia .

According to a calculation for 2013, around 1900 people live there, the result of the last published census from 1993 was 1452.

Toniataba is located in the Lower River Region in the Jarra West district and is around five kilometers from Soma . The place is about two kilometers away from South Bank Road .

Culture and sights

In Toniataba, a historical building is known as a place of worship . It is Gambia's largest traditional thatched round hut, beneath it is a famous Mandinka - Marabout buried, a descendant living in the cottage.

According to a listing by the National Center for Arts & Culture , Toniataba was a location of a tattoo .
