Tony Burrows (* 14. April 1942 as Anthony Burrows in Exeter , Devon , England ) is a British studio singer who was very popular especially in the 1970s.

Career

The former seller had traveled through Great Britain with various groups for several years, after which he mainly worked as a session singer. Burrows recorded and released many records since the 1960s. Only then was it decided whether a group would be put together around the hit that might develop from it. He sang in the following groups, which almost exclusively owed their success to Burrows: The Kestrels , The Flower Pot Men , Edison Lighthouse , Brotherhood of Man , White Plains , The Pipkins , First Class , The Ivy League and others. a. m. In February 1970 he was the first (and to date only) singer to appear simultaneously with three hits under three different names in the British Top of the Pops.

In addition, Burrows was a background singer a. a. with Elton John , Cliff Richard and James Last .
