Life

Conn performed as a rockabilly singer and guitarist at regional concerts. His first professional contract was brokered in 1953 by the then Congressman and later US President John F. Kennedy , who was enthusiastic about Conn's performance.

When Life magazine printed four large-format pictures of Conn's wild stage show from the Apollo Theater in New York in its December 22nd 1958 issue as part of the report Rock 'n' Roll Rocks on , Conn achieved a certain popularity and his nickname The Wild Man .

Conn released two singles on Decca in 1959 . During the Rock 'n' Roll Revival, Tony was a member of The Rollin 'Rock Rebels alongside Johnny Legend , Ray Campi , Billy Zoom , Colin Winski and Jim Roup . In 1979 he was persuaded by Ronny Weiser to make new recordings. Conn re-recorded his old tracks for Ronny's Rollin 'Rock label, recorded new material for an album and went on tour again. Another album followed in 2002 with Ray Campi.

The singer starred in the film Teenage Cruisers directed by Tom Denucci and Johnny Legend. In the documentary Rebel Beat: The Story of LA Rockabilly , Conn appeared alongside artists such as Glen Glenn and Janis Martin .

Tony has two children, Julie Ann Conn and a son. Today Tony is in a wheelchair and lives in a nursing home. The musician “Hollywood” Joe Nania regularly publishes videos of the two of them on his YouTube channel.
