Tony Franck
Tony Franck , née Thiedemann (born February 11, 1827 in Eckernförde , † September 25, 1875 in Berlin ) was a German pianist.
Life
The daughter of the pedagogue Johann Jakob Thiedemann showed pianistic talent as a child and was therefore promoted by the Danish royal family. In 1843 she came to Berlin as a student of Hofkapellmeister Wilhelm Taubert . She soon made a name for herself as a pianist, made friends with Fanny Hensel, nee Mendelssohn, and also appeared in the concerts she organized. Jacob Burckhardt , Paul Heyse and the poet Friedrich von Bodenstedt were among her admirers, but especially the poet Emanuel Geibel , who immortalized them in poems. In 1850 Tony Thiedemann married the composer Eduard Franck. She is the mother of the composer Richard Franck .
