Johann Jakob Thiedemann

Johann Jakob Thiedemann (born June 22, 1794 in Heide (Dithmarschen), † September 24, 1844 in Eckernförde) was a teacher at the municipal school in Eckernförde in the first half of the 19th century . He published a method for elementary education. In the pedagogy new was that of Thiedemann so called reciprocal education institution which sought the face of high school enrollment for new ways for effective teaching. For his services he was from Friedrich VI. awarded the Dannebrog medal.

Thiedemann is the father of the pianist Tony Franck and the grandfather of the composer Richard Franck .
