The Tooms River is a river in the east of the Australian state of Tasmania .
geography
River course
The river arises in Tooms Lake , about 80 km north-northeast of Hobart . From there it flows through completely unpopulated area to the west-northwest and flows about 8 km further into the Macquarie River .
