Torben Jensen (born September 29, 1944 in Copenhagen , Denmark - † November 2, 2018 ) was a Danish actor .

Life

Torben Jensen came to the orphanage at the age of 12. He worked as a painter for a while before devoting himself to acting. He graduated from Odense Teater with an acting degree in 1970 . He then moved back to his hometown of Copenhagen, where he was on the stages of Folketeatret , Bristol Teatret , Det Ny Teater and Aveny-T in the following years . His theater career ended in the early 1990s when he began to suffer from stage fright as a permanent member of the Det Kongelige Teater .

As a film actor, on the other hand, he was regularly seen in productions such as private detective Anthonsen , Emmas Schatten and Mifune - Dogma III since the early 1970s . Until his last film in 2008, the political thriller What Nobody Knows , Jensen starred in almost 40 film and television productions. His greatest success in 1986 was the portrayal of Helle Ryslinges comedy Flambéed Hearts. For this he was awarded the Danish Film Prize Robert for Best Actor .

He was married to actress Helle Merete Sørensen until the divorce in 1989 .
