The Torfbahn Gorochowskoje ( Russian Узкоколейная железная дорога Гороховского торфопредприятия , transkr. Uskokoleinaja schelesnaja doroga Gorochowskowo torfopredprijatija , transl. Uzkokolejnaâ železnaâ doroga Gorohovskogo torfopredpriâtiâ ) is a narrow-gauge railway in the settlement Komsomoltski in Rajon Kotelnich in Kirov Oblast in Russia .

history

The 35 km long light railway was put into operation in 1960 and is still in operation all year round (2016). It has a track width of 750 mm. Today it is used to transport peat and to move workers. At the northern end of the line, the peat is reloaded into broad-gauge railway wagons with a gauge of 1520 mm and brought to a combined heat and power plant in Kirow .

Freight and passenger cars

There are several open and closed freight wagons, passenger cars, fire-fighting tankers, bulk goods wagons for transporting gravel during track construction, as well as at least one snow plow and cranes of type GK-5 and UPS-1 (№ 50) and one PPR2ma track construction crane.
