content

In the gourmet age, the delicatessen hunter Toriko travels the world to satisfy the appetite of the wealthy for ever new flavors. The delicatessen hunters are needed at this time as the most sought-after ingredients are dangerous animals or are guarded by such. Even the 200 kilo muscle pack itself is a gourmet and wants to experience every conceivable taste on his travels in order to be able to put together the ultimate eight-course menu at the end of his life. He is accompanied by the young and talented cook Komatsu, who wants to observe the animals in their natural environment and thus get new ideas for their preparation. However, unlike Toriko, he is weak and fearful, so he always stays out of the fights.

On their travels, the two meet other delicatessen hunters - and an organization that wants to control all food in the world and is looking for the legendary ingredient GOD.

The German magazine Animania describes Toriko as a typical Shōnen series of actions with increasing fights that can compete with hits of the genre such as One Piece . The joke of the series is mainly made by the many crazy creatures and the interaction of the unequal duo. Toriko, for example, serves "an overall tasty gourmet manga meal".
