32 postcards

For his literature and art project 32 Postkarten , he published 32 authentic postcards on the website 32postkarten.com , which were written in Hamburg in 1940/41 in the German script similar to Sütterlin and sent to Sweden - the last before the Holocaust . Exactly 70 years to the day after the first of these cards was written, Wächter put this postcard online on March 29, 2010. Since then, all other maps have also been published in “simulated real time” on the day they were dated - just 70 years later. Wächter had discovered the postcards in his father's estate in the attic of his parents' house. His grandparents wrote it in Sütterlin script and sent it to their son, who had fled to Sweden.

In March 2014 the book 32 Postkarten - Post aus Nazi-Deutschland was published.

The second part of this project was published in 2013. Here Wächter describes the first five months of the National Socialists in power and the effects this had on the life of the German-Jewish Wächter family of officials in Hamburg.
