The Torrent Valley ( English for Sturzbachtal ) is a valley at the base of the Ulu Peninsula in the northwest of the West Antarctic James Ross Island . It extends from the ice field below the striking cliffs east-southeast of Massey Heights to Shrove Cove .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1993 after a stream that flows through the valley covered by two separate ice fields and emerges 500 m downstream from an ice cave in the form of a delta on a plain.
