Torsten Bittermann (born February 3, 1968 in Werdau ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Torsten Bittermann moved from Motor Werdau to the youth department of FC Karl-Marx-Stadt in 1982 . With the FCK he became GDR junior champion at the end of the eighties.

The defensive player was able to establish himself quickly in the Saxon league team. The highlights of his international career were the Chemnitz European Cup against Boavista Porto , Juventus Turin and Borussia Dortmund . At national level, he reached the semi-finals of the DFB Cup with the CFC in 1993 , but was defeated by the amateurs of Hertha BSC .

In 2002, Bittermann's ex-trainer Christoph Franke followed for three years at Dynamo Dresden , where he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga . In total, Bittermann played 184 games (7 goals) in the 2nd Bundesliga, 152 appearances in the Regional League (17 goals), and 45 games (no goal) in the GDR Oberliga .

Torsten Bittermann has been assistant coach for the first team at Chemnitzer FC since summer 2005 . As assistant to coach Gerd Schädlich , he was able to achieve successes such as the Saxony Cup victories in 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014 as well as promotion to the third division in 2011. He is currently team manager under CFC head coach Sven Köhler .
