Torsten Eckbrett (born April 13, 1984 in Potsdam ) is a former German canoe racer .

Eckbrett is a student and started for the KC Potsdam . The sports soldier , trained by Rolf-Dieter Amend , came third in the 2001 World Junior Championship in a four- person kayak over 500 m. At the European Junior Championships in 2002 he won gold in a single kayak over 1,000 m and bronze in a four over 500 m. His greatest success so far was winning the silver medal in the four-man kayak over 1,000 m at the European Championships in 2008. Only shortly before, not long before the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing , he moved into the German flagship of canoeists, the four-man kayak , on. He replaced the previously disappointing Marco Herszel and came third with Lutz Altepost , Norman Bröckl and Björn Goldschmidt at the Olympic Games.
