Bjorn Goldschmidt

Björn Goldschmidt (born December 3, 1979 in Karlsruhe ) is a German canoeist .

At the 2005 World Championships , the canoe racer of the Rheinbrüder Karlsruhe won the silver medal in a four-person kayak over 200 m. Two years later he became world champion over 1000 m in the four-man kayak at the 2007 World Championships in Duisburg . In 2008 he qualified together with Lutz Altepost , Torsten Eckbrett and Norman Bröckl for the Olympic Games in Beijing , where they won the bronze medal.

For his sporting achievements he was honored by Federal President Koehler with the silver laurel leaf.

Björn Goldschmidt is the older brother of Arnd Goldschmidt .
