Torsten Lilliecrona

Torsten Casimir Wilhelm Florusson Lilliecrona (born January 4, 1921 in Jönköping , † October 15, 1999 in Höganäs ) was a Swedish actor .

Lilliecrona dropped out of school to devote himself to his acting career. After taking acting lessons from Gabriel Alw, he was accepted at the Dramatens elevskola in 1940 . After a stay in Finland at the Wasa Theater, he returned to Sweden, where he was engaged at various private theaters. He got his breakthrough in 1953 with the comedy Trasiga änglar . In the early 1960s he was a member of the television theater ensemble.

In 1962 Lilliecrona was engaged at the City Theater in Gothenburg, where he worked until 1992. He finally became really known and popular in 1964 for his role as the dear but clumsy Melcher in Astrid Lindgren's television series Holidays on Crows Island , which featured the films Tjorven, Boatswain and Moses (also 1964), Tjorven and Skrollan (1965) and Tjorven and Mysak (1966) followed. However, this role also had a negative effect on his career, as his person was so closely connected to that of Melcher Melcherson that he had difficulty getting other roles in film or television in the following years.
