action

Melcher Melchersson goes to the holiday island of Saltkrokan with his children in summer. The children spend a lot of time with their friends who live on the island. Eight-year-old Pelle does a lot with Tjorven, her dog, boatswain, and with Stina, who lives on the island with her grandfather.

Tjorven and Stina heard that if you kiss a frog, it becomes a prince. They want to try it out right now and hope to find a man like that for Malin. No sooner have they kissed the frog than the handsome Peter Malm appears in his sailing boat at the harbor. In the store he meets Malin and is immediately blown away by her.

A baby seal gets caught in the net of the fisherman Vesterman. He gives it to Tjorven. From now on Tjorven, Pelle and Stina take care of the baby seal they call Moses. They build him a pool that Moses can swim in and feed him.

Peter Malm works at the Zoological Institute in Uppsala. There they are looking for a seal. When Vesterman hears this, he hopes to be able to earn a lot by selling the baby seal. He offers it to Peter for sale. The children are angry about it. After all, Vesterman had given the baby seal to Tjorven. They are trying to prevent the sale.

Meanwhile Peter and Malin fall in love.

When Pelle's rabbit Jocke and a lamb were bitten to death one night, the adults believe that Tjorven's dog boatswain was responsible. Tjorven's father decides to shoot the boatswain. At the last moment Stina discovers that a fox has torn the lamb and killed the rabbit.

In the meantime Vesterman has found Moses and tried to sell him to Peter. He refuses to buy Moses. The children start a fundraising campaign so that they can buy Moses back. When the children bought Moses back, Tjorven gave this skin as a gift. She wants to console him over the loss of his rabbit. Pelle releases Moses and gets Peter's puppy Jum-Jum. Peter, in turn, gets Malin.
