Karl-Evert "Kalle" Bergholm (born December 10, 1922 in Bromma , Sweden ; † November 3, 1985 in Stockholm ) was a Swedish cameraman , best known for his photographic work on numerous Astrid Lindgren film adaptations from the 1960s and 1970s has been.

Life

After attending primary school, Kalle Bergholm had received two years of training at a photography school. He then served as an intern and assistant to the well-known Swedish cameramen Åke Dahlqvist , Martin Bodin , Arne Sucksdorff and Gunnar Fischer . In 1942 he began his practical work as a still photographer for Gustaf Molander's production “ Rid i natt ”. Until 1953 Bergholm served as a still photographer and second cameraman, in between, in 1949, he made his debut in a short film as chief cameraman.

Bergholm's importance for Swedish cinema is based almost exclusively on three world-wide popular children's series based on Astrid Lindgren's books: " Holidays on Crow Island " (originally made for television), " Pippi Longstocking " and the films about the wheat-blonde Michel (in the original : Emil) from Lönneberga.
