Reviews

For Bernd Gonzales, Lotta can do almost anything is one of his favorite Christmas books. He praises the beautiful pictures by Ilon Wikland . Julia Franck adds that the pictures are “really loving, beautiful and full of charm”.

Ingrid Löbner advises parents in her guide for serene parents-happy children: Take a look at Astrid Lingren's picture book with more ease and relaxation through the first six years of life , in order to be able to “intensely empathize” with how four-year-old children feel, from which eyes they see the world see what thoughts they are thinking and what undertakings they are already capable of.

Gabriele Cromme explains that the picture book contradicts the classic understanding of the roles of girls and boys. In this, boys are perceived as “active and enterprising”, while girls are perceived as “passive and immobile”. Lotta is "active and enterprising".
