There are no robbers in the forest , also The robber Fiolito ( Swedish Ingen rövare finns i skogen ) is a fairy tale by Astrid Lindgren .

action

After playing with Jansson's boys in the woods, Peter returns to his grandmother's apartment with his wooden sword. He keeps shouting that there are no robbers in the forest. He calls this even after he's been standing in front of his mother's old dollhouse in the living room. Suddenly Peter finds himself in the doll's house. The angry doll Mimmi stands in front of him. She explains to him that there are robbers in the forest. It is about the robber chief Fiolito and his forty robbers. They are after their precious pearl necklaces. Together with Mimmi, Pelle tries to dissuade the robbers from entering the house. But all effort seems in vain. Fiolito enters the house and steals the pearl necklace. However, Mimmi tells Peter that Fiolito only stole the wrong pearl necklace. It wasn't her real pearl necklace. She shows Peter the other pearl necklace, which looks exactly like the pearl necklace Fiolito stole. She explains to Peter that he should think twice before saying that there are no robbers in the forest. When Peter's grandmother comes into the house, Peter is sitting by the doll's house and looks in at Mimmi, the doll his mother had always played with.

reception

Tilman Spreckelsen from the FAZ thinks Ilon Wikland has created "a delightfully colored watercolor series of pictures based on Lindgren's triple-bottomed classic, the more intense or fading colors of which, at will, support the unreal robbers' penetration into the dream world of a walk-in dolls house." Birgitta Negel-Täuber and Klaus Weile add that “the predominant blue tones create a mysterious atmosphere”.

Lyrans Noblesser thinks the story has some unexpected twists and turns, and that the children's actions are resourceful and clever. The dark, slightly blurry images of Ilon Wikland would complement the magical and exciting story in a pleasant way. Tonia Karina Heinrich that Astrid Lindgen knows how to describe “masterfully” how Peter dreams himself into a fantasy world, “and in a playful way overcomes his fears”.
