Torsten Zander (born January 19, 1964 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

On August 17, 1986, Zander made his debut in the 58th minute at BFC Dynamo II during the game in the second highest division of the former German Democratic Republic against BSG Schiffahrt / Hafen Rostock . By the winter break of the same year, he had another seven missions for the reserve team of the Berliners in the GDR league . The then coach of the first team of the BFC Dynamo, Jürgen Bogs , helped the 22-year-old Torsten Zander to his first appearance in the FDGB Cup on October 11, 1986 . At the beginning of the second half in the game against BSG Motor Eberswalde , he switched to Zander for Thomas Doll .
