Torsten Zugehre (born March 24, 1972 in Lutherstadt Wittenberg ) is a German local politician and Lord Mayor of Lutherstadt Wittenberg.

Life

After graduating from high school with vocational training as a skilled worker for BMSR technology at the Piesteritz nitrogen works , he did his community service at the Augustinuswerk in Wittenberg. 1992–1998 he studied law at the University of Leipzig . He then worked as a research assistant at Manfred Seebode's chair .

After the second state examination in 2001, he moved to a law firm in Wittenberg and then worked in various management positions at the state enterprise Saxon real estate and construction management and at the tax office in Leipzig . One of them was the personal advisor to Leipzig's Mayor Uwe Albrecht .

Since January 2009, after his election by the city council of Lutherstadt Wittenberg, Zug had been mayor and deputy mayor. On February 22, 2015, he was elected as the successor to Eckhard Naumann with 85.7% of the valid votes for a term of seven years as Lord Mayor, which he assumed on July 6, 2015.

Belonging is married and has three children.
