Toumani Djimé Diallo (* 1948 in Koulikoro ) is a Malian diplomat .

Life

He was born the son of Djimé and Seynabou Diallo. In 1965 he graduated from the Prosper Kamara School in Bamako . In 1967 he completed the propaedeutics for physics and chemistry at the natural science faculty in Abidjan in Ivory Coast . In 1968, he obtained a university diploma in plant biology in France from Sciences de Rangueil in Toulouse and was admitted to the École Nationale Supérieure d'Agronomie (ENSAT) in Toulouse, which he attended from 1969 to 1972. He dealt in particular with genetics and crop production and graduated from school with a degree in agricultural engineering.

From 1973 to 1977 he worked as a teacher for crop production and agriculture at agricultural schools in Chartres and Sées . In 1978 he became director of a pineapple growing company in Divo , Ivory Coast , which was part of the state-owned company SODEFEL . He then moved to the private company SAFCO. In 1985 he returned to Mali and managed a mango export company.

From March 1992 to August 1998 he worked as a consultant, then until February 2000 as Chargé de Mission for the Prime Minister. This was followed by another time as a consultant in the economic sector until September 2002.

In September 2002 he became special advisor to the President of the National Assembly of Mali . One focus of his work was the support of the Malian parliamentary delegation and the standing committees of the joint parliamentary assembly of the ACP-EU as well as the parliamentary accompaniment of WTO negotiations. From February 2007 he was the President of Parliament's Cabinet.

In November 2010 he became Mali's ambassador to Morocco . In 2015 he was appointed ambassador to Germany . In 2017 it was also accredited for Lithuania and Latvia .

He left Germany on March 11, 2018 and became his country's ambassador to France. In this role he sparked a diplomatic crisis with a critical statement about the behavior of French soldiers in Mali before the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Armed Forces of the French Senate . The following day he was summoned to the French Foreign Ministry . The Malian Foreign Minister, Tiébilé Dramé, traveled to Paris to clarify the situation . Diallo was called back to Mali for consultations. In December 2019, he had previously also become ambassador in Monaco .
