National Assembly (Mali)

The National Assembly of Mali is the Parliament in unicameral of Mali .

147 members of the National Assembly are elected for five years each. The National Assembly is located in the capital Bamako .

The most recent parliamentary election took place on March 29 and April 19, 2020, after the election was originally planned for 2018, but was suspended due to the conflicts in northern Mali . The previous elections took place on November 24 and December 15, 2013. The National Assembly was constituted on January 22, 2014. Before that, the election was held on July 1 and July 22, 2007 and on July 14 and 28, 2002.

Dissolution after the 2020 military coup

After President Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta and Prime Minister Boubou Cissé were arrested in a coup initiated by members of the Malian armed forces , Keïta announced his resignation, that of the entire government and the dissolution of parliament, early in the morning on August 19, 2020.
