Towarzystwo Budowy Samochodów AS was a Polish manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Czesław Zbierański founded the company in Warsaw in 1924 as an automobile workshop . In 1927 he hired Jan Łaskia. Work on a prototype began at the same time . The chief designer was Aleksander Liberman. In January 1928 the vehicle was ready. Production began in March 1928. The brand name was AS . The company used many parts that were made in Poland. Only the built-in motors were obtained from France . Production ended in 1930.

In the model S-1 a saw four-cylinder engine of Chapuis-Dornier with 950 cc displacement and 18 hp power for the drive. In the S-2 model , a Ruby engine with a displacement of 1095 cm³ was initially used, which was later replaced by a CIME engine with a displacement of 1203 cm³ and an output of 24 hp. For this model, the design-related top speed was specified as 90 km / h. Both models had the same chassis with four-wheel brakes and a three-speed gearbox. Many vehicles were used as taxis . Production numbers

The company produced around 50 vehicles in 1928. In 1929 only 20 were made, and in 1930 at least three.
