Company history
In March 1996, the South Korean company Daewoo Motors acquired a stake in the Polish companies Fabryka Samochodów Osobowych (FSO) from Warsaw and Fabryka Samochodów Ciężarowych (FSC) from Lublin . The aim was to produce Daewoo models for the European market. The company's headquarters were located at 83 Jagiellońska Street in Warsaw. Sales in Poland were initially good. The market share in Poland was 28% in the best year. In 2001 the number of sales fell by over 60% due to obsolete models. One source states that it went bankrupt as early as October 2001 . In mid-2002, Rover showed interest in the factory, but it was never closed. Production ended in 2004.
