The wind dries tears ... is a German melodrama from 1967 with the later star director Margarethe von Trotta in her first film role, at the same time the female lead.

action

Bernd, a ship officer in the merchant navy, meets the blonde Gaby while going ashore in Hamburg. Both quickly find pleasure in each other and spend a love weekend in bed together. What he doesn't know at first: Gaby works as a striptease dancer in a bar. Her love for the young man, who also seems to have serious feelings for her, is so great that Gaby wants to give up her go-go girl career in St. Pauli to start a new life at Bernd's side can. But she and her employer are entangled with the underworld, and soon things get so out of control that Gaby finally kills one of the gangsters who stand in the way of her happiness. From now on she is hunted, and finally Gaby dies while trying to escape from a police bullet.
