Tracey Dey
Tracey Dey (born 21st April 1943 in Yonkers as Nora Ferrari ) is an American pop singer , published in the 1960s records.
Artistic career
Nora Ferrari grew up in Yonkers , New York , and studied at Fordham University in New York . In 1962 Ferrari gave the producer of the Chicago record company Vee-Jay Bob Crewe a demo tape with songs he had sung himself. This prompted Crewe to produce a single with Ferrari at Vee-Jay . This was published in October 1962 under Ferrari's stage name "Tracey Dey". Although Crewe had Tracey Dey sing in the style of the Four Seasons , which he successfully supervised , the debut record and the follow-up single, which came out in March 1963, were not a success. Then Crewe made a new attempt in the summer of 1963 at the record company Liberty Records , where he recorded a third single with Dey. With the title Teenage Cleopatra contained on it, the desired success set in, he found entry into the Hot 100 of the US music magazine Billbord and reached number 75 as the best listing. With this success Crewe succeeded in getting Tracey Dey with a long-term contract small music label Amy Records in New York. There Crewe produced six singles with her until 1965, of which the titles Here Comes the Boy (93rd) and Gonna Get Along Without You Now (51st) also reached the Hot 100. After that, Columbia Records released two duet records with Gary Knight under the name "Day and Knight", which received little attention and with which Tracey Dey's recording career ended.
She put her stage name back and took up a degree in theater studies at Columbia University in New York. She later became a course leader there herself. She wrote scripts and appeared in small roles, for example in 2007 in the film A Single Moment .
