The Trageburg - formerly called Draburg and Drageburg or Dasenburg - in the Harz is a castle ruin on the Rappbodevorsperre near Trautenstein in the Harz district in Saxony-Anhalt ( Germany ).
Geographical location
The ruin is located in the Lower Harz in the Harz / Saxony-Anhalt Nature Park . It is located about 2 km north of Trautenstein, a district of Oberharz am Brocken , on the north shore of, among others, the Rappbode fed and in 1961 completed Rappbode Auxiliary Dam at about 460 m above sea level. HN . The Rappbode passed the former castle far below - east of the confluence of the Allerbach .
History and description
Little is known historically about the Trageburg. In a document from 1654 it is called Draburg . Like the nearby Susenburg , it served to protect an old long-distance trade route that led from south to north across the Harz . The Trogfurter Bridge also belonged to the road system .
The castle cone, sparse wall remains, ditches and ramparts still exist from the Trageburg. Their location is a ground monument and is a listed building .
