The Rappbode is a right southwest tributary of the Bode in the Harz in Saxony-Anhalt . In its lower reaches, it is dammed by the Rappbode dam , the largest dam in the Harz Mountains.

The Rappbode rises east of the federal highway 4 near the Jägerfleck at the border triangle of Lower Saxony , Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia . Their source is located about 3 km southwest of Benneckenstein or southeast of Hohegeiß at 575 m above sea level. NN height. On the opposite side of the B 4, numerous source streams of the Zorge arise . The Rappbode flows in a predominantly north-easterly direction through the towns of Benneckenstein and Trautenstein , before flowing into the Rappbodevorsperre and shortly afterwards into the Rappbode dam. In the downstream Wendefurth dam , it then joins the Bode .

The Rappbode valley is spanned by the Megazipline double rope slide and the Titan RT pedestrian suspension bridge above the part of the Wendefurth reservoir that adjoins the air side of the Rappbodetalsperre dam . The slide is around 1000 m long and the free-hanging section of the 483 m long bridge is 458.5 m.
