The Hassel rises south of Stiege near the Birkenmoor stop of the Selketalbahn . In stairs it flows through the Upper and Lower Pond. The Hassel continues to flow to Hasselfelde . After about 10 kilometers of flow, it reaches the Hasselvorsperre . After the 21-meter-high dam, the Hassel flows into the Rappbode reservoir in the Rappbode .
