The Murmelbach is an orographically right tributary of the Hassel . The flow ordinal number is 6.

The Murmelbach rises at about 485  m above sea level. NHN am Hoppelberg , flows west to flow into a marsh area at the foot of the Murmelberg and bends south-southwest. The brook still flows within the marshland, to the north of Hagemühle, on the right-hand side at about 440  m above sea level, it flows into the Hassel . The total length of the creek is about 1.5 kilometers. The Murmelbach has no tributaries.

Name meaning

The name is a classic combination of - Bach with an onomatopoeic descriptive verb. Here it is the Old High German murmurôn , murmulôn  - from Middle High German murmeln .
